UPDATE from Coaches Patty and Amanda

Hi Soccer parents and players,

Update on 02/10/21:  There is a change in what CIF stated (below) — Keep you posted!

Girls Soccer is a “spring” sport.  However, we cannot play games until we are in the orange tier.  We are currently in the purple tier.  (Purple, red, orange, yellow are the order).

CIF said in the summer that it would allow athletes to play club and high school during the same season.  However, in January, they rescinded the rule.  So now it is like any other year, athletes cannot play club and high school at the same time.

CIF has also stated, “Athletes and coaches should cohort by team, and refrain from participating with more than one team over the same season or time period (not withstanding competitions permitted as outlined below.” (Directly from a CIF memo)

We are following county and CIF guidelines.  Things change constantly, as stated earlier.  Guidelines and restrictions may lessen as we move forward.  Thus, we will have to adjust again.

Thus, we are trying to understand what our numbers will look like when we get to the red tier and begin to think about tryouts and a season starting.

ATTENTION:

Please fill out a Google doc form (forthcoming) and choose one of the three following options:

  • you are planning to play high school soccer (that means you will not be playing club at the same time or another sport that might be scrimmaging, playing, etc.),
  • you will focus on club soccer only, or
  • you are going to switch to another sport for this year

There will be a brief zoom meeting on MONDAY, February 22nd at 6:00 pm.  Please log in to Patty’s zoom class using your daughter’s account (you have to use mbusdapps account).

NOTE:  We may not be able to answer all questions, but we will do our best and look to find answers.  In addition, the Google doc form will be either released on the chat or after the Zoom meeting.

These are unique times.  We are in a pandemic and I don’t think anyone thought it would last this long.
